Research Scientist, Display Development

IST is developing flexible plasma displays using hollow gas encapsulating spheres (Plasma-spheres) as the pixel element. Plasma-spheres are applied to flexible electronically addressable substrates to form Plasma-sphere arrays. Position Description:

Research Scientist will lead a team developing flexible Plasma-sphere arrays. The specific responsibilities of this position are to perform experimental work to develop the necessary technology components for a fully flexible AC Plasma-sphere array.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Performing advanced research and development in the fabrication of Plasma-sphere arrays

• Setting the technical experimental plan and executing in a rapid paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Highly motivated, creative, free-thinker with experience in glass, ceramic, and/or phosphor materials.

• Understanding of inorganic materials reaction with adhesives, conductive inks, and polymers.

• Strong basic experience in materials and properties of materials

• A Ph.D. in a technical field such as a degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or possibly Electrical Engineering with emphasis in materials, thin film and thick film processing.

• Strong technical writing skills, accustomed to participating in team based technical problem solving discussions.

• Ability to work within an entrepreneurial environment.
